Leadership Programs

Why leadership?

Student Activities Office leadership programs are designed to develop student leadership at all levels.  It is the vision of the leadership program to:

  • Develop socially  responsible, critical thinkers
  • Inspire students to be conscientious and engaged citizens at the collegiate, regional, national and global level
  • Engage students at a personal level in their own communities
  • Prepare students to lead with purpose

Conversation on Race

A Conversation on Race is an ongoing series that provides students, faculty, staff, and community members with the opportunity to discuss issues surrounding race in an open, honest forum. Facilitated by students, A Conversation on Race is a "safe space" for any questions or remarks about a variety of different racial topics.

The Voices of a New Generation Multicultural Immersion Program stems from the series 'A Conversation on Race.' Here we are giving students the opportunity to join in the process of diversifying campus and growing their leadership abilities through an intensive year-long program consisting of off-campus trips, small and large group sessions, and diversity training.
