Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

Once again the students, faculty, and staff of UM-Dearborn, Henry Ford Community College, and Madonna University will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of voluntary community service activities to benefit residents of Metropolitan Detroit in commemoration of the birthday and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The service activities will be carried out on Monday, January 21, 2008, the national holiday in honor of Dr. King. UM-Dearborn faculty, staff, students, alumni, and family members are encouraged to be part of what has come to be a very important and fulfilling campus tradition. The website includes a registration form, a volunteer release form, and a list of the participating agencies and sites at which services will be provided.


A Conversation on Race Presents: Tim Wise

Come out an participate in an engaging conversation with Tim Wise - renowned author, speaker and activist. 

Mr. Wise is one of the most prominent anti-racism speakers in the country.  He has spoken to over 300,000 in 48 states and at over 350 college campuses.  He trains people to dismantle racism in their institutions including schools, health care systems, neighborhoods and other communities.

Mr. Wise will speak and facilitate an honest and open discussion on the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus on Friday, January 25th at 1 pm in Kochoff Hall, University Center.
